about this team:

The Global Procurement team are trusted business advisors who strategically partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to create value and mitigate risk in strategic non-product purchases for the global organization.  The team supports the business in increasing its profitability and return on investment by creating value in our indirect supply chain through strategic & stakeholder-centric procurement.  From providing category expertise, market insights, cost savings opportunities, supplier performance and relationship management & developing short and long-term strategies, the Global Procurement team plays a key role in value delivery for our business.


Job Summary: 

The Procurement Analyst will be focused on identifying and addressing cost savings opportunities across Lululemon through spend analytics and benchmarking, and supporting sourcing strategy development, along with strategic sourcing/supplier negotiation activities. The Procurement Analyst explores spend opportunities as identified by the Procurement Director but is expected to pro-actively analyze spend as well.  This position will have an active role in managing and delivering strong results that support the category strategy and provide significant value to the Department/Company. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing data and developing insights that inform and support fact-based decision-making. As the Procurement Analyst will work on several different initiatives simultaneously, strong personal organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities are also important. 


The Procurement Analyst will frequently work with individuals from business units across the Company and will also be responsible for communicating and building relationships internally across our stakeholder community as well as externally, with suppliers. Strong relationship skills and the ability to communicate with all levels will help this person to be successful in the role.


As the Procurement Analyst will interact with and develop an understanding of various areas of the business, experience in the Indirect Procurement organization will likely be a valuable asset for future opportunities that arise in other business units.


Core Accountabilities:

  • negotiations and project management with the support of others in the Procurement organization as needed
  • Analyzing spend data and other resources to identify savings opportunities and uncover additional insights
  • Work in partnership with Procurement Strategy & Analytics Global team members to regularly report on International/Regional spend trends. Work with Procurement Director and broader Global Procurement Team to identify and share insights through data and market research
  • Collaborate and participate in conversations with business unit leadership to highlight potential savings opportunities, understand the requirements of the business, and support decision-making are met
  • cross-functional business stakeholders – for example, Marketing, Technology, Corporate services, Store development, and asset protection and.
  • Bring agility and sourcing efficiency to all activities; support execution of specific roadmaps containing prioritization of sourcing categories and events. Participating in development of category strategies and sourcing approaches
  • Tracking performance of the procurement organization against established metrics and providing reporting to Company leadership
  • Partnering with FP&A to validate projected savings from procurement-driven activities
  • Identifying needs of the business units regarding procurement-related education and supporting development of training sessions/materials
  • Supporting creation and communication of standardized procurement policies and processes
  • Executing other procurement-related special projects as needed


Required Skills, Experience and Academic/Educational Requirements:

  • 2-3 years in procurement related role. Retail industry experience will be a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong ability to communicate and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities while ensuring that all expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and continue to broaden understanding of commodities and industry cost drivers to  determine implications on Lululemon Supply base and sourcing strategy
  • Experience in analyzing complex data to develop insights and quickly learning and adopting new methods and processes.
  • International experience is a plus
  • Capable of balancing workload and prioritizing tasks
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office), knowledge of P2P/Oracle a plus
  • Be decisive when presented with limited data (decision-making) and result-orientation.
