About this role
The Exit & Store Planning Senior Manager is a critical member of the Product team, connecting store level plans and exit inventory strategies with the financial success of the company. Working with various cross functional partners across the company to drive strategic business results, while leading and developing a newly formed function in-region, this role will be responsible in building out localization and exit strategies that link back to Merchandise and Financial plans.
A day in the life:
Store Planning:
• Direct the development of accurate pre-season and in-season store plans while monitoring and responding to in-season store performance trends
• Partner with Planning, Buying and other cross functional teams to refine and develop an appropriate store tiering and clustering methodology that best captures the localization needs of the business
• Understand store level performance of product strategies and share analytical insight in order to support in-season trading and strategic decision making to achieve KPIs
Exit Management:
• Direct the execution of clearance strategies that maximize sales within appropriate margin levels
• Develop long term exit strategies that support the business in providing a premium brand experience
• Successfully manage outlets, markdown campaigns, online events, write off opportunities, and other strategic initiatives to responsibly manage and exit inventory
Leadership & Team:
• Develop high performing planning team, including formal and informal training/coaching, leadership development, and performance management
• Participate in the preparation of executive level information
• Streamline and build efficiencies into the Exit & Store Planning process
• Partner and communicate with various cross functional teams to collectively drive for results
Qualifications:
• 10+ years merchandise planning experience
• 3+ years of related experience with strong management performance
• Understanding of exit/markdown strategy and planning
• Supports and develops highly effective teams
• Proven experience in high growth and complex China market with multiple markets within the China region
• Vertical retail experience required. Omni channel experience is highly desirable.
• Strong relationship builder and cross functional partner
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
• Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal
