This role is part of the technology leadership team accountable for the strategy, project management, and delivery of technology to create an ecommerce experience that is unique, while also eliminating friction points for our online guests that can be not only felt but measured. Our team is fast-paced and taking on exciting new initiatives to support a fast-growing business. Core responsibilities

As Sr. Technology Manager, you are a leader responsible for leading the EC technology team with accountability for software development scoped to business-transformative projects by being involved in projects from inception through implementation. You are a leader on the team doing exciting and innovative work as we bring omni transactional experience for our guest to life.

You also bring your experience, ideas, and initiatives to influence and drive change to support our growth and scaling. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of project managers, business analysts, and software vendors across multiple concurrent work streams.
  • Manage project timelines, resources (people & process), and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop team capabilities through empathetic coaching, skills development, and career path guidance, ensuring optimal skills are applied to strategic problems.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of a seamless frontend EC experience in various touch points (e.g., WeChat Mini Program, Tmall, JD, Red Mini-Program, .CN) to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Develop a robust Unified Commerce Services to support frontend EC touch points. The services include but not limited to: Search, Recommendation, Product Information Management (PIM), Order Center, Promotion Center, Payment Center, Shopping Cart and etc.
  • With business input, define product vision and strategy, craft the roadmap, and drive execution of the product backlog.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through launch and iteration.
  • Gather quantitative/qualitative feedback, develop experience improvement hypotheses, model financial impact, and lead teams to optimize digital products for enhanced customer value and business results.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and transparency on priorities, progress, and achievements.
  • Analyze technical challenges and constraints, make informed trade-off decisions, and propose viable alternative solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis and opportunity assessments, providing pursuit support for strategic new business ventures.

Qualifications

  • 10+ Years Project & Product Leadership: Demonstrated success leading teams to deliver complex EC software projects in project and product management roles.
  • Strategic & Tactical Acumen: Proven ability to formulate big-picture strategy while meticulously diving into implementation details.
  • High-Velocity Execution: Track record of delivering results through effective multi-tasking and prioritization in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Experience aligning priorities with key partners and third-party vendors. Strong collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Exceptional analytical skills with documented examples of leveraging metrics throughout the product lifecycle. Expertise in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Development Methodology Expertise: Hands-on experience managing software projects using object-oriented frameworks within both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Financial Accountability: Proven experience managing project/product budgets and conducting regular financial forecasting.
  • Impactful Communication: Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, coupled with strong active listening abilities.
