As part of the China Communications & Corporate Affairs team, the Internal Communications Manager, China will play a critical role in creating an engaging, inclusive, and connected internal communications environment across lululemon China. This role acts as a strategic connector and storyteller, linking teams, functions, and leadership to ensure employees feel informed, inspired, and connected.


The ideal candidate is open‑minded, creative, and culturally intuitive, with a strong passion for storytelling and employee experience. They will serve as a trusted communications partner to China leadership, including acting as the executives’ voice in internal communications, and continually bring fresh, innovative ideas to strengthen engagement and belonging.


core responsibilities


Corporate Reputation & Media Relations

  1. Develop and execute China corporate communications strategies in alignment with global guidance to support business priorities and strengthen lululemon’s corporate reputation.
  2. Shape and deliver clear, consistent corporate narratives that resonate with China media, stakeholders, and the broader public.
  3. Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with key national and business media, industry platforms, and opinion leaders in China.
  4. Manage proactive and reactive media engagement, including interviews, statements, background briefings, and media monitoring.

Issue & Crisis Management / Brand Protection

  1. Lead and support issue identification, scenario planning, and risk assessment, closely monitoring emerging reputational risks across media and social platforms.
  2. Serve as a key China point of contact for issue and crisis communications, working closely with Global Corporate Communications, Legal, Government Affairs and cross‑functional partners.
  3. Develop localized reactive communications materials, Q&As, key messages, and holding statements to mitigate reputational risks.
  4. Act as media response lead during issues or crises, ensuring timely, accurate, and aligned communications.

Executive & Stakeholder Communications

  1. Support executive communications externally, including media interviews, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership positioning.
  2. Advise senior leaders on reputational risk, messaging strategy, and engagement approaches in the China context.
  3. Internal Communications (Supporting Scope)
  4. Support internal communication storytelling related to major corporate topics, issues, or reputation‑sensitive matters.
  5. Help ensure internal alignment during sensitive issues to avoid misinformation or confusion among employees.

qualifications


• 6–8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, ideally within multinational companies, agencies, or highly regulated industries.

• Strong track record in issue and crisis management, including hands‑on experience managing sensitive or complex reputation challenges.

• In‑depth understanding of the China media landscape, including traditional media, digital platforms, and social sentiment dynamics.

• Proven experience in media relations, including pitching, interviews, and crisis response.

• Experience providing strategic counsel to senior leaders in high‑pressure situations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.

• Bachelor’s degree or above.
