A day in the life

As Sr. Technology Manager, you are a leader responsible for leading the Retail technology team with accountability for software development scoped to business-transformative projects by being involved in projects from inception through implementation. You are a leader on the team doing exciting and innovative work as we bring omni transactional experience for our guest to life.

You are a leader who is comfortable leading and managing team members with different skill sets and can communicate expectations clearly to all team members. In addition to strong management skills, you act as a leader for the technical roadmap for your team and can communicate timeline, scope and risks to partners and stakeholders, and lead the delivery of major initiatives. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs and balance business needs versus technical constraints. Maturity, curiosity, creative problem solving, and team leadership are all essential for success in this role.

You also bring your experience, ideas, and initiatives to influence and drive change to support our growth and scaling. Key responsibilities for this role include:

Leading a team of project leads, analysts, engineers, testers, business stakeholders and software vendors across multiple work streams simultaneously

Managing process, people, and timeline to ensure that high quality deliverables are produced

Ensuring the right skills are being used to solve the right problems by supporting the team with empathetic coaching, skills development, and career path leadership.

Ensuring team produces software that meets business and technology requirements which is resilient, monitorable, performant and maintainable.

Leading resolution of production support incidents in accordance with incident management policies and procedures and ensures that applications changes follow change management policies and procedures.

Champion and enforces software development and operational support processes

Driving alignment by building effective partnership with stakeholders across global markets

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

·       Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a technology management role, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex software projects.

·       In-depth experience in building, assembling and delivery mobile first in-store technology products. 

·       Experience managing priorities with key partners and third-party vendors. Strong analytical skills with supporting examples of using metrics in all aspects of the product lifecycle. Exceptional data analysis skills.  

·       Experience in developing object-oriented development frameworks within Agile/Scrum, and waterfall environments

·       Experience & working knowledge of Cloud Services

·       Experience managing budgets and conducting regular forecasting

·       Excellent presentation, verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills

·       Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation

·       Strong collaboration skills to achieve business goals collectively across broad teams
