about this team

The core mandate of the Alternative Channel Department is to oversee the bulk procurement business in the Chinese market. As an incremental revenue channel supplementing the existing offline and online sales channels, it drives additional business growth. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Alternative Channel, with primary responsibilities including the procurement, warehousing, and inventory turnover management of product categories tailored for group-purchase operations. The idea candidate is expected to possess solid expertise of the bulk procurement market, demonstrate acute insight into market trend shifts, and embody an innate entrepreneurial spirit dedicated to pioneering new business development avenues for the brand.

 

core responsibilities

  • Align with corporate business strategies and market trends to formulate and execute channel-specific pre-season plans to seize emerging market opportunities proactively.
  • Collaborate with the MP&A (Merchandise Planning and Allocation) team to define pre-season sales targets, markdown strategies, delivery schedules, and inventory plans, establish a robust framework for business execution.
  • Forecast the performance of core items and collections, optimize inventory turnover mechanisms, drive efficient stock flow, and reduce overstock risks.
  • Partner with Corporate Sales to monitor market dynamics, develop responsive tactics and fulfill customer needs via flexible stock allocation.
  • Lead key financial decisions, balance sales volume, gross margin and inventory turnover efficiency to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze business requirements and flexibly adjust product strategies and execution plans
  • Provide data reports and insight analysis to support the achievement of sales targets.

 

qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified, preferably in business or commerce
  • Around 10 years’ merchandise planning experience in the apparel industry
  • Familiar with merchandise and planning systems
  • Expert knowledge of Excel is required
  • Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Extremely organized thorough and able to prioritize
  • Detail-orientated with exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong ability to see the merchandise vision and translate into viable plans
  • Results oriented - strong sense of motivation
  • Self-directed problem solver, proactive and resourceful
  • Responsible, dependable and mature, with sound judgment
  • Capable of effective demand management from a variety of sources and adapts well to change
