As a key managerial role within the lululemon Brand Marketing Styling team, the Styling Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily and long-term operations of the styling function in China. This role ensures operational excellence, efficient workflows, and strong cross-functional collaboration to support the successful execution of all styling-related projects.


The role requires a strong operational mindset combined with solid fashion awareness, enabling the manager to effectively support styling execution, understand creative intent, and make informed operational decisions that uphold the brand’s visual and business objectives


1. Operations Management

  • Lead the overall operations of the styling function, developing and implementing annual work plans, overseeing budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and improving team efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the Styling Director to translate styling vision and creative direction into clear, scalable, and efficient operational processes, ensuring that each shoot meets both business and creative objectives while maintaining the highest brand and visual standards.
  • Own styling operations governance, ensuring consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all styling projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying gaps and driving enhancements to workflows, tools, and team effectiveness.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Brand & Product team to ensure that styling selections align with brand strategy and product team priorities, while fully understanding the business impact of styling decisions.
  • Liaise with the PR team to optimize styling communication processes for celebrity and editorial shoots, enhancing brand exposure.
  • Coordinate with Creative, Marketing, and other relevant teams to ensure styling direction is aligned with the overall brand image and communication strategy.
  • Serve as the primary styling operations liaison across Product, Creative, Marketing, PR, and other relevant teams.

3. Workflow & System Optimization

  • Design and refine standardized styling workflows, documentation, and tools, to enhance operational efficiency and drive effective collaboration.
  • Support the structuring and continuous optimization of the styling department’s operating framework, improving workflow clarity, efficiency, and team effectiveness.

4. Project Execution

  • Manage styling execution for brand campaigns, advertisements, social media content, and other shoots, including timeline planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
  • Collaborate with the Sample Manager to assist in placing seasonal sample orders (IUPO) for shoot styling, ensuring accurate communication of styling requirements and alignment of samples with the shoot content.
  • Organize and manage samples to ensure thorough preparation and structured storage for shoot requirements.
  • Support the coordination of fitting sessions prior to shoots, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure styling decisions align with the brand’s identity and department needs.
  • Maintain and update real-time styling documents as a source of truth for each project, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adaptability across multiple workflows and evolving project demands.
  • Communicate and coordinate styling and assistant teams, assisting the Styling Director in providing feedback to freelance stylists and external partners.
  • Oversee styling-related operations on shoot days.
  • Collaborate with the Sample Manager to manage the return process and oversee post-shoot sample organization.
  • Responsible for compiling and regularly updating model casting information.


qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Management, or related fields. Overseas study experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the advertising, creative, or fashion industry. Experience managing styling or creative teams is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and coordination skills to collaborate effectively with different teams.
  • Proficiency in Apple software (Keynote, Numbers), Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and project management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and draft professional reports.
  • Candidates with a strong fashion styling sensibility are highly preferred, including the ability to understand styling narratives, visual balance, and on-set styling logic.
  • Prior hands-on experience in fashion styling, editorial shoots, brand campaigns, or assisting stylists is a strong plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stylists, creative teams, and external partners using professional styling language, with an understanding of fashion trends and visual storytelling.
