A day in the life: 
  • Create and manage the China Ecommerce team’s merchandising strategy for all product categories.
  • Responsible for the successful assortment, that guarantees growth and delivers sales, gross margin and inventory productivity goals of Ecommerce channel.
  • Responsible for strategic assortment planning, determining locally relevant assortments and being a competitive market expert for China Ecommerce channel.
  • Responsible for delivering China Ecommerce financial targets by successfully managing the product lifecycle and go to market process of all product categories on all Ecommerce platforms (Tmall, JD, Wechat, Mini-Program, Douyin and etc) through effective teamwork and partnership with China Product team, fulfilment team and marketing team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
  • Lead Ecommerce team’s product strategy and assortment architecture based on deep understanding of different Ecommerce platforms’ business model and guests’ profile
  • Manage and execute online merchandising and promotional calendar by channel
  • Influence China Product strategy through delivering Ecommerce platform’s strategic market insights and performance analysis, and identify new product opportunities to deliver business growth
  • Responsible for 2 to 3 year forward looking product strategy
  • Accountable for Ecommerce channel performance results and meeting financial targets & KPIs
  • Drive China Ecommerce pricing architecture through collaborating with China Product team to ensure consistency across the brand
  • Act as an “Ecommerce expert" for all Ecommerce channels and effectively communicate key data points, including merchandising strategies, fashion & sportswear trends, pricing and competition that supports China Product strategy
  • Proactively gather, analyze and drive insights from different Ecommerce platform’s knowledge and competitive landscape across platforms
  • Drive the development of new features, programs and services for the online stores to optimize the overall user experience
  • Act as the primary point of contact for China Product team
  • Train, support and develop Ecommerce merchandising & planning team

Qualifications:
  • 12+ years Ecommerce merchandising / buying experience - proven merchandising and store visual design experience on online stores such as Tmall, WeChat, and JD
  • 5+ years of Ecommerce related experience with strong management performance
  • A high degree of comfort with data, analytics, and visual design is needed for successful candidates
  • Exhibits impactful communication with peers up to SLT level
  • Proven experience in high growth and diverse China market
  • Understand retail mathematics and Open to Buy
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret multiple data points across numerous channels
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a cross functional team
  • Excellent sense of style and color trends, athletically minded
  • Expert in product content marketing, especially for fitness / sports products. Strong instincts on how to present products in a manner that promotes sales. Understand components within a product page that have been proven to help answer customer questions and present products in the best light
  • Ability to own the onsite testing process - including test plan development, test execution and measurement
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal in both English and Mandarin
  • Entrepreneurship - an ability to make decisions and take calculated risks
  • Previous retail visual merchandising experience is a plus
