about this team

The Planning team maximizes guest demand through visionary OTB planning, effective seasonal buying and proactive in season management. They collaborate with retail and ecommerce operations teams to drive in-season business and work closely with regional buying team, regional inventory management & S&OP team, regional cross functional partners, global planning team and global finance team to create the OTB and merchandise planning strategy and lead the team to execute the strategies in agile manner.

The Senior Director is responsible for setting the OTB, buying & merchandise planning strategies to support driving the business to achieve sales target. This role involves developing the 5-year Long Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Operating Plan from planning prespective. The Senior Director is fully accountable for the financial and operational performance of China Planning department.


core responsibilities

• Set the financial framework, strategy, and targets that support divisional & class buying strategies.

• Develop regional relevant buying & merchandising planning strategy through high-level financial analysis and guidance.

• Manage the 5-year long-range plans and forward-looking forecasts.

• Accountable for sales and inventory performance results and meeting financial targets and KPIs set by the company.

• Align and influence regional and global cross-function partners to acquire supports and resources needed to bring the merchandise planning strategies to life.

• People Responsibilities:

o Responsible for hiring, team/individual development

o Lead self and others, organization

o Coach and develops a team, direct reports typically manage others


qualifications

• University degree required.

• More than 15 years of merchandising planning experience in retail apparel sector.

• At least 8 years of management experience.

• Demonstrate a strong sense of business acumen and strategic agility.

• Exhibits impactful communication with peers up to the Senior Leadership Team level.

• Strong capability to build and develop highly effective teams.
