About this role
As part of the Merchandise Planning Team, the Exit Planner is responsible for the inventory management of all exit channels, focusing day to day on all liquidation avenues – outlets, markdown campaigns, online events, write-off opportunities and other strategic initiatives. The Exit Planner supports the Business in accurate forecasting of our exit sales and inventory position; assessing future needs and devising strategies to manage accordingly. The goal is to support the business in providing a premium brand experience by planning and executing clearance strategies to maximize sales and appropriate margin levels.

A day in the life:
Reporting to the Exit & Store Planning Senior Manager, this position is responsible for the day to day analytical and planning tasks required to manage and execute exit inventory movement and strategies; including, but not limited to, category sales targets, markdowns, gross margin and productivity measures.
• Develop sales and inventory financial plans for the exit channel by category and store
• Analyze and reflect current trends to revise in-season plans for sales and profitability -
o Make financial recommendations in order to maximize sales, margin and inventory productivity
o Work closely with Finance counterparts to align store financial targets
o Manage cross-channel transfers and adjust inventory flow accordingly
o Communicate forecasts within the team and cross-functionally
• Work closely with outlet store management and Digital partners to assess inventory needs and action store allocations/DC transfers accordingly
• Partner with Planning team to plan full price channels markdown events; ensuring successful execution to reduce Exit stock liability
• Project future Exit merchandise financial plans to work with leadership on Exit channel needs (e.g markdown events, additional outlet opportunities etc.)
• Exhibit initiative to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential
• Provide other analysis related to driving business goals (e.g. post-event hindsights etc.)

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Retail merchandising, business or finance – or related field
• 3-5 years of merchandise planning or inventory management experience in a vertical or global Retailer
• Experience working with sales and inventory forecasting systems or excel based templates
• Understanding of exit/markdown strategy and planning preferred but not essential
• Advanced-expert knowledge of Excel is required
