about this team

The Trade Operations team is responsible for ensuring the compliant, timely import of shipments to lululemon distribution centers for China region. The team owns the relationship with all Customs brokers and is the subject matter expert on trade operations, including being the business partner for our trade operations technology initiatives.


In addition to supporting and reporting on import/export operations, the team supports Customs & trade initiatives, identifies and mitigates trade risks and partners closely with the global trade compliance team on trade compliance related matters.

 

core responsibilities

  • Manage and build relationships with customs brokers/other vendors to ensure KPI commitments achieved
  • Well known to courier parcels import/export flows of China under various customs declaration trade modes.
  • Explore FTA policy process if necessary and work out feasible solutions as per lululemon’s business needs.
  • Leverage industry best practices and professional knowledge of China customs single window platform to facilitate for Lululemon China import activities.
  • Review and/or support the development of business cases as well as performing in-depth analysis to identify high-level business and functional requirements.
  • Audit on brokerage records and document retention completeness
  • Respond to or escalate customs/trade inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner closely with regional and global trade compliance teammates on compliance risks, global initiatives and broader supply chain strategy
  • Set up strong mindset of continuous improvement on routine operation process; participate in logistics SOP development and optimization on regular basis.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt and accurate submission of customs documentation, including customs declaration and import/export licenses
  • Participate in ad hoc tasks and projects


qualifications

  • University graduate in customs programs or logistics management, international supply chain management and/or trade-related disciplines is preferred
  • 5- 8+ years hands-on customs and trade Operation experiences. A know-how to China import/export operational procedures. Ability to independently respond customs questions from in-declaration or after-clearance stage.
  • FTA experience is a strong plus and preferred to assist in customs duty savings.
  • Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Familiar with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, PowerBI etc)
  • Analytical skills, attention to details, with a sensibility that balances theory and practice
  • Open-mindedness and a keen interest in learning and self-development
