Position: Senior Director, Retail Brand Experience

About this role: 

The Senior Director, RBE is responsible for leading Retail Brand Experience which encompasses of 3 main pillars – Visual Merchandising Strategy, In Store Marketing and Key Market Visual Merchandising. Working closely with cross-functional leaders, this critical role ensures that our retail stores are a celebration of both product and brand stories throughout the year with clear and efficient zoning to not only drive efficiency for retail but also promotes product education for our guests.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the concepting, development and implementation of China regional RBE strategy throughout the year for both campaign and non-campaign (365) moments.
  • Deliver Retail Brand Experience strategies that support and drive Brand elevation, Product Merchandising, and Channel strategies
  • Be the advocate for and create the curiosity for Retail Brand Experience as a critical lever not only for the Brand but also as a critical component for an elevated guest experience and network differentiation
  • Lead, develop and coach a high performing team that delivers into exceptional work whilst staying true to our shared values
  • Effectively plan for and manage the annual budget, continuously driving negotiations with vendors for optimization and efficiencies

Visual Merchandising Strategy

  • Deliver and continuously optimize the Visual Merchandising Strategy, for both pre-season and in-season, based on the product allocation, store capacity, cluster and differentiation strategy.
  • Together with Store Development, Retail and MP&A, provide input to New Stores, Pop-ups and Store Optimization work, considering the guest journey, product navigation and exploration.

Visual Merchandising

  • Manage the regional Visual Merchandising team, supporting and developing the team to drive an elevated level of brand and product storytelling across 200 stores,
  • In close partnership with retail, deliver ~25 new store openings and or optimizations every year, including pop ups and spaces for emerging channels such as the Douyin livestreaming room
  • Champion and continuously update the training materials, workshops and tools in order that forms the framework for retail visual merchandising leads to deliver exceptional in store presentation

In Store Marketing

  • Set the bar and inspire through outstanding Window design and presentation, leveraging this critical lever to create interest and curiosity, driving not only traffic into the stores and also driving talkability online
  • In close partnership with the VMS lead, strategically consider FOS props, Hot Wall, In Store signages and any additional support needed to communicate on key stories for both Men and Women during campaign and non-campaign moments
  • In close partnership with Brand, Regional teams and Creative, strategically select and drive for assets that delivers a holistic and cohesive message, within our stores and also connecting our stores to the larger external environment 

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience leading visual merchandising, retail marketing, retail design, and experience design for a consumer-focused global brand
  • Strong management and leadership experience, ability to navigate multiple tracks of work with tight timelines
  • Proven ability to build and develop high performing global teams that strive for excellence with a heightened sensitivity to visual presentations and design
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a cross-functional team
  • A team player with excellent communication skills and comfortably operating with agility in a fast-paced environment
  • Global mindset with a deep understanding of the China landscape and ecosystem
