The Role / Location
The role of Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics will be based at lululemon’s China SSC in Shanghai, dedicated to the long-term development and growth of lululemon in China.

Job Summary:
The Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for establishing the data analytics & insights capability within China through defining the enterprise insights strategy for the region, modernizing data usage and applying analytics to provide strategic insights for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Strategy & Process
·       Define and develop the business intelligence and data analytics strategy and capabilities for China
·       Define the processes and interactions needed to run an effective data-driven business operations
·       Develop strategies to interpret business data into actionable insights that drive business strategy and operations

Business Reporting and Analysis
·       Assess business requirements and lead the development of enterprise-level business reporting, including visualization, for executive reporting as single source of truth for the region, in partnership with Technology and business teams
·       Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) framework and analytical methodologies for performance measurement
·       Support key leadership business meetings and materials requiring data & insights presentations with impactful storytelling and visualization
·       Conduct in-depth analysis on critical business topics by identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies. Apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models for identifying business opportunities
·       Transform complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights
·       Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
·       Support new report and dashboard requirements for key initiatives and projects, as needed
·       Create and maintain documentation for data models, reports, and processes

Insights Consultancy & Partnership
·       Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights
·       Champion the usage of data, advanced analytics and strategic insights to enable problem solving, decision making and inform business rationale
·       Be the key integrator of data, analytics and insights usage across the senior leadership and business teams, with Technology. Ensuring that the teams provide actionable recommendations and calls for action based on gathered insights. Oversee that gathered insights are translated into engaging, actionable and easy to digest insights presentations.
·       Establish and maintain a strong data analytics community with a high level of trust that facilitates action-ability of insights
·       Partner with key stakeholders within China and globally to input into the data governance approach for China
·       Upskill functional teams and users in relevant dashboards and platforms, and build data literacy within these groups to ensure data is used and digested in the intended way

Qualifications:
·       10+ years’ experience in a global retail environment, focusing on business intelligence, data analytics, data consultancy
·       A passion for delivering data-based recommendations for quantifiable improvements in business results and guest satisfaction.
·     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The capacity to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of data with attention to detail and critical thinking.
·       Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
·       Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data mining techniques. Advanced degree in quantitative field a plus.
·       Strong business, commercial and financial acumen with both quantitative and qualitative literacy
·       Proven leadership ability (5+ years leading a team)
·       Proven relationship management experience
·       Proven organizational and time management skills
·     Outstanding communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely (Chinese and English)
·       Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially with middle and senior management
·      Ability to train, develop, evaluate, discipline, reward, coach a team in a way that attracts and retains high quality and qualified employees
